Groundhog Day

Posted on February 28, 1998May 17, 2022 by Village Vidiot

“Groundhog Day,” 28 February 1998, video.  Old Bill Murray film that’s charming. I very much enjoyed this third (or is it the fourth?) viewing.  In the “It’s a Wonderful Life” tradition.  Bill Murray plays an arrogant tv-weatherman who goes to Puxatawny, Pennsylvania to cover the groundhog ceremonies. Gets caught in a time loop and learns to be a much better person for it. Abuses and then uses time. Learns to treasure every minute of a special day. Very interesting premise. It works and is very well respected overseas. Bronwen was not very impressed with it.  I even liked Chris Elliott and Andie McDowell.
