Before Midnight

I liked this third episode in the continuing saga of Celine (Julie Delpy) and Jesse (Ethan Hawke) from director Richard Linklater. It’s written by the three of them. It now finds them older, with twin daughters, living in Paris but vacationing in Greece. They’re trying to deal with the real stresses of being older, being parents—in absentia for Jesse, whose son by his marriage goes back to the US as the movie begins. Being a couple is also watching a woman struggle with career and family, issues of what keeps love alive or kills it, sex (they’re still young, but even then it’s a more fragile element), and everyday life. He’s still a successful if not wealthy writer, and she still wants to save the world’s climate. Six week working vacations in Greece would be nice. The gender issues are very interesting A very good and ‘real’ argument. A film that seems so improvise but is actually tightly scripted See this film
