The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Posted on August 17, 2018 by Village Vidiot

I really enjoyed the trilogy that provides the basis for this first film. I liked this true-to-tale vision of the book. It’s very well done and very creepy indeed. Nicely acted. Very disturbing film. One difference from the book is in the ending as to why L and B leave things as they do. The film doesn’t really get you into Blomqvist’s relationships so Lisbeth’s behavior is not really comprehensible. Otherwise, true to the tale although it uses scenes from the later books to make the first one more intelligible to the viewer. I wish L was a bit more feral and wired, almost lemur-like; she’s too beautiful even as Goth. I picture her much skinnier, much smaller (she’s 4’11” in the book), less beautiful, and more wild. Still, a very good film. I look forward to viewing the other two volumes
