Whatever

Posted on August 17, 2018 by Village Vidiot

Painful and depressing supposed teen comedy about two high school girls who say a resounding no to just say no. Well-acted by all, but the drug and alcohol abuse are brain and soul numbing for the consumers and the viewers. The sex is meaningless and exploitative. If all teen relationships are so empty then long live celibacy. I found the extent of the male thoughtlessness overplayed. Bad dreams for Bronwen after viewing this one. If our daughter grows up in such a world we are all in deep trouble. Nary a functional family in the town. Directed by Susan Skoog. Perhaps this represents the world as experienced by some portion of young people. A sad state of affairs. Still, I think (I hope?) it is more than a tad hyperbolic
