Last Holiday

Posted on January 15, 2006May 10, 2022 by Village Vidiot

“Last Holiday,” theater, January 15, 2006.  Queen Latifah is ok in this nice, romantic piece about a proper New Orleans working woman (works in a department store). She loves to cook but won’t eat what she cooks for fear of the weight, adores celebrity chefs, and has a crush on another sales clerk (LL Cool Jay in a really nice little bit of work). Then she learns that she’s dying and only has three weeks to live. She flies off to Switzerland where she wins over the staff and makes the world right for all. Very funny in many little bits. Sweet and predictable. Interestingly, it’s worth watching mostly because of a delightful bit by Gerard Depardieu as a celebrity chef. He is an absolute joy in his role.
