Barbershop

Posted on February 8, 2003April 17, 2021 by Village Vidiot

“Barbershop,” 8 February 2003 (2002), DVD.  This is a funny, kind, largely loving look at an African-American barbershop in Chicago. Calvin (Ice T) inherits the shop from his father but has greater dreams for himself. Life in the shop provides a look at the community and this very important institution. Some fine acting from Cedric the Entertainer, Eve, Anthony Anderson, and many more. A very funny subplot about some moronic thieves stealing an ATM. Check this one out. It’s a solid commercial film. Both Bronwen and I enjoyed watching this
