Gravity

Posted on March 25, 2014July 18, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“Gravity,” May 25, 2014 (2013), DVD.  We both enjoyed this space thriller that would have played better in the theater than on our ‘tiny’ screen. A medical researcher (Sandra Bullock) and a mission pilot (George Clooney) are adrift and struggle to survive when their space vehicle and fellow crew members are wiped out by space debris. Bullock is very good as she discovers the “gravity” of life and the earth. By Alfonso Cuaro’n who also did “Children of Men”. Well-produced and well-photographed technically Compare this with “All Is Lost,” however, where there is, essentially, no dialogue. This is a chatty film even after it goes to one person. Interesting feature that shows the ‘other side’ of the conversation Bullock holds with someone on Earth who picks up her signal. I think Bronwen liked it a bit more than I did
