Treme’

Posted on May 15, 2011July 15, 2020 by Village Vidiot

”Treme’,” May-June 2011 (2010), DVD.  We really enjoyed this 10-part first season about post-Katrina New Orleans. I found M Leo’s character a bit too sincere and virtuous for my taste (she is, apparently, modeled on a real NO lawyer) but the rest of the piece is a wonderful and joyous presentation of the city with all its flaws, corruption, and virtues laid bare. Music/musicians and food always get top billing. Well worth watching. Fine ensemble work from the same producers who brought us “The Wire”. Already in season two, but we don’t get HBO and will watch it on DVD
