The Darjeeling Limited

Posted on August 5, 2008July 15, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“The Darjeeling Limited,” 5 August 2008 (2007), DVD.   We watched this odd Wes Anderson brother/buddy travel pic on our 18th anniversary. Hurrah to us!. Three brothers (Owen Wilson, Adrian Brody,. Jason Schwartzman) travel to India at the behest of one to reconcile after being alienated following their father’s death. It is a journey of some silliness and discovery. Bill Murray in a bizarre cameo as a businessman running for and not making a train, and Angelica Huston as their mother-turned-nun. Preceded by odd short about Schwartzman’s character with Natalie Portman in Paris. Stagey, slow, sometimes painful, often bizarre and sometimes humorous film. Amazing scenery, handmade art in film. Discovery takes many forms
