“Red,” April 15 2011 (2010),DVD, home. Wow, I’ve barely seen a film in a month. Maybe more. Painful. This is a trivial and silly little piece with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich (the best of the group), and Helen Mirren (boring role) as former CIA assassins who are now targets because they know bad things about bad people who now aspire to higher office. Some fun shoot-em-up explosions, older is better, and young folks just don’t get it. Skip it if you want something meaningful. However, it’s really fun to watch Mirren work in this opposite Brian Cox.
