“For Your Consideration,” 24 November 2007 (2006), home DVD. We all felt disappointed by this weak Christopher Guest comic offering. A very lame purported period piece “Home for Purim” starring B-to-C list actors is shaken up when TV entertainment reporters start talking up the film and three of its actors for Oscars. Egos run amok and things spin out of control. Chaos increases as the producers decide to deracinate the whole thing and transform it into “Home for Thanksgiving”. A few comic moments but basically it’s a very tame offering from Guest and Shearer. The usual ensemble. Watch “Spinal Tap,” “Waiting for Guffman,” or “Best in Show” again if you want a real laugh
