Everyone Says I Love You

Posted on January 24, 1996May 24, 2022 by Village Vidiot

“Everyone Says I Love You,” 24 January 1998 (1996), video.  Sometimes funny Woody Allen musical about the lives and loves of the rich, white, liberal New Yorkers he hangs out with. A couple of wonderful musical comedy numbers about love done to old standards, but a real piece of fluff all around. As usual, nice work by Alan Alda and Goldie Hawn. One funny aspect is the guy who plays the young love interest for Drew Barrymore does a perfect Allen imitation.  Interesting look at Allen led by his daughter into a relationship with an adult woman. He plays himself as passive, thus the victim. What a surprise for this adult male married to his daughter.
