State and Maine

Posted on September 17, 2001December 29, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“State and Maine,” September 17, 2001 (2000), video.    This very funny David Mamet version of Trufaut’s “Day for Night” works as a troupe of actors descends on a small NH town to make a film. Led by their director William Macy, they include a pedaphile, Alec Baldwin, and a shy leading lady, Sarah Jessica Parker, plus an idealistic author, Seymour Hoffman. Funny work from Rebecca Pidgeon among others as they make a mess of the small town and bring groupies out of the woodwork. Well worth the watching.
