Mullholland Drive

Posted on October 17, 2002January 4, 2021 by Village Vidiot

“Mulholland Drive, October 17, 2002 (2001), video.    This is an excellent, very weird David Lynch film about fantasy and reality and the confusion between the two. Although I am writing this months after seeing the film, it sticks with me for its amazing twists on dreams and reality, its use of actresses in double roles, in reality that turns out to be a dream and reality that turns out to be a nightmare. Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring are wonderful in the two lead roles (two each, actually). The film has the usual Lynchian weirdness (no dwarfs, but happy tourists in LA!) and unbelievable twists and turns. Great article on it in Salon magazine online. See this one!
