The Miracle Worker

Posted on February 11, 2005July 15, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“The Miracle Worker,” DVD, 11 February 2005 (1962) We loved this 1962 Anne Bancroft/Patti Duke tour de force. I hadn’t seen it since it came out. Don’t confuse this with the remake that, I think, had Duke in the Annie Sullivan role. See the original. Black and white film covers story of Helen Keller’s early years and her coming to consciousness (rarely a more apt term) under the demanding tutelage of Annie Sullivan. Somewhat romanticized about their relationship, but in all, a real marvel that should be seen again. Our daughter really like the movie. It’s a good film to show to kids and a good one to talk about with them. See it again!
