Dial M for Murder

Posted on August 7, 2008July 19, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“Dial M for Murder,” 6-7 August 2008 (1954), DVD.  We both enjoyed his Hitchcock chestnut. I’d never seen it. A washed up English tennis star (Ralph Milland) hires a hit man to kill his straying wife (Grace Kelly) who’s ex-boyfriend, Robert Cummings, a mystery writer, is in town Sophisticated banter and a light touch, for the most part, set this work apart from the horror show murder mysteries of our time Wonderful acting from the killer and the police detective. So many bad accents in one film. Kelly is wonderful!. Beautiful, stunning, and worth the watch. Milland is excellent, Cummings so so. Taken from a stage play of the same name.
