The Book of Mormon

Posted on April 12, 2014July 17, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“The Book of Mormon,” April 12, 2014, live in theater.  We both really enjoyed this crude, rude, not-for-the-kids smash hit musical from the creators of South Park. It lovingly skewers the theology of the Latter Day Saints while eventually reminding us that all religion is just about metaphor. Although lots of folks don’t seem to make that leap. Very funny, musically catchy, and outrageous look at two 19-year old Moron elders sent to Uganda to convert the AIDS/war/poverty afflicted masses. Along the way, there are some hilarious looks at LDS history, church dogma, and the repression of personal deviance from the perfect world vision demanded by church leaders. See this one if you can afford it or score subsidized or discounted tickets as we did.
