Bringing Up Baby

Posted on October 14, 2017October 28, 2020 by Village Vidiot

“Bringing Up Baby,” October 14, 2017 (1938-Black and White), DVD, home.   This is probably really going to irritate people, especially those who are more film savvy than I am. I know this is one of the most beloved films ever made and, for many folks, one of the best – if not the best – comedies ever made. So, why did I find it sort of, well, boring?. Cary Grant and Catherine Hepburn are both beautiful,. but geez, madcap should at least be interesting. I think I liked Baby best. I must admit, the racist joke in the first few minutes of the film just turned me off. Yes, I know it’s a different time and place, but some films don’t wear as well as others. So please, tell me what I missed and why this is so wonderful. It may well be, but I really went unmoved, and I was really looking forward to it!
