In Bruges

Posted on August 17, 2018 by Village Vidiot

Jimmy (Collin Farrell) and. Ken (Brendan Gleeson) are UK mob hit men sent by their boss, Harry (Ralph Fiennes), to Bruges when the assassination of a priest goes south and a young boy is killed in the process. Farrell, an amazingly unsophisticated Dublin thug, is bored to tears in ‘medieval’ but oh so post-modern Bruges (where a surreal film is being shot) and tormented by what he’s done. Ken is happy to be in this gorgeous, history-rich city. They are mobsters as the odd-couple of tourism. Both wonder why they’re there. What plays out is a comic, serious, and violent story that’s very well-written, -acted, -filmed, and very intense. Again with the dwarves. What does it mean to be a hit man with ethics and a code of honor?. See this film
