Son of Rambow

Posted on August 17, 2018 by Village Vidiot

I waited a while to see this 2007 film and was a little disappointed. Still, we both enjoyed this unusal Brit comedy about two misfit kids (one, repressed and fatherless from a home of religious zealots, the other out of control in an environment of parental indifference) who get together and plan a movie about the religious boy’s fantasies of finding his father (deceased), Rambo. Along the way we meet the other kids including a pretentious French twit straight out of a cartoon. Animation and ‘real life’ mix it up throughout the show. Fun, funny, and at the end, excessively ‘heartwarming’ and too kind. Still, a fun viewing
