Bronwen really hated this funny homage/satire of Vietnam War films with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr, Nick Nolte, Matthew McConahey, and a bizarre and wonderful bit of work from Tom Cruise (who I usually hate). A film crew of imploding stars go to Viet Nam to make a film about the war. Very silly, stupid stuff. Goofs. They get sent off into the back-country and are captured by drug smugglers. Art becomes life but with some fun twists. I liked this low-middle brow piece of satire about theater, acting, and the film industry. The iconographication of the war is now a subject for humor, and not the dark humor of MASH
