“Avatar: The Way of Water,” September 18, 2023 (2022), DVD. Sadly, we’re back on Pandora to plunder everything of value at the expense of the indigenous occupants. Sully (Sam Worthington), of course, went full on Na’vi, and he, his wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) must flee their forest home to escape the evil, reconstituted Col. Quaritch (Stephan Lang). They find shelter among the aquatic Na’vi. The story of humanity’s interplanetary resource grab, horrific, inhumanity and abuse of nature and the worlds around us continues on track. Director/writer James Cameron loves the water and especially loves to film sinking ships. This one evoked 10 minutes of the “Titanic” going under. It’s a beautifully crafted visual film.
